Bunna Insurance S.C. was established on the 25th of May 2013 under license number 019/13 and started providing General Insurance Service to the Public since August, 2013. September 21, 2021 the company has started providing long-term insurance service. Bunna has accounted ten years operational period. Within this short period, commendable success has been achieved in the capital increase and growth of premium income. The initial paid-up capital of the company was Birr 6,715,000 and to make the Company competent in the sector, to build its reliability among Customers and to comply the capital requirement as per Directive No S/B/34/2014 of the National Bank of Ethiopia, currently, the Paid up Capital of the Company is over Birr 200 million. And branch net work reaches 35 both in Addis Ababa and regional cities. It has more than 50,000 customer base across the country. The Amharic word “Bunna” refers “Coffee” in English. Ethiopia is the birthplace of Coffee. Coffee is the backbone of the economy and has social and cultural significance in Ethiopia. In all directions (East, West, South and North) of the Country, regardless of social status and religion, Coffee is drinking with ritualized ceremony. An invitation to attend a coffee ceremony is considered a mark of friendship or respect and is an excellent example of Ethiopian Hospitality.
