Lucy Insurance S.C. was established in 2012 with 39 Visionary Shareholders who are renowned business people involved in various businesses in the country with a paid-up capital of birr 8,035,000. It has grown its Paid-up Capital to Birr 75,000,000.00, as per the Directive of the National Bank of Ethiopia, which requires Insurance companies to raise their minimum paid-up capital to 60,000,000.00 and 75,000,000.00 for General and Life Insurance businesses. As of June 30, 2023, the Company’s paid-up capital has reached Birr 160.2 million, and its shareholding base has increased to 564, which is a huge potential for the Company’s growth and expansion. The Company owns its headquarters building located at Haya Hulet In front of Capital Hotel next to Waryt Mulutlia and is rendering General insurance service through its 35 branch offices (28 city branches and 7 outlying branches) and in-house developed database.
