Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the manager:

• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the overall financial activities of the association, including saving and loan administration, management accounting, financial accounting and cash management;
• Ensure the establishment of proper financial accounting and management systems that can provide accurate, current and complete picture of financial transactions, and that can identify sources and application of funds in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles;
• Ensure policies and procedures laid down to govern finance and accounting activities are strictly adhered;
• Direct, monitor and control the orderly clearance of payables and receivables;
• Ensure that all taxes are paid within the time limit set by regulations;
• Secure approval for the write off of unclaimed liability and bad debt;
• Coordinates the operation of corporate and association’s accounts; supervises and controls the maintenance of proper books of accounts taxation and inventory;
• Authorize payment and countersigns cheques; signs vouchers, transactions, correspondence and other documents in accordance with corporate procedures and delegated authority;
• Ensure that performance financial statements such as balance sheet, income statement and fund flow statement are prepared on time;
• Meet with applicants to obtain information and solve requests for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
• Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
• Review and update credit and loan files.
• Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
• Execute other related duties that may be assigned.

Job Requirement

• QUALIFICATION: Master’s degree in accounting, Business Management/Administration, Banking or related field of study At least 2 years as Finance & Administration Supervisor or Loan Administration Supervisor or Saving Administration Supervisor specifically in a Savings and Credit Associations (SACAs) or Savings & Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) BA Degree in Accounting, Business Management/Administration, Banking or related field of study At least 4 years as Finance & Administration Supervisor or Loan Administration Supervisor or Saving Administration Supervisor specifically in Savings and Credit Associations (SACAs) or Savings & Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs)
