Lucy Insurance S.C. was established in 2012 with 39 visionary shareholders who are renowned business people involved in various businesses in the country, starting with an initial paid-up capital of Birr 8,035,000.

Through strategic growth, the company increased its paid-up capital to meet and exceed the National Bank of Ethiopia's minimum requirements. As of June 30, 2025, the company’s paid-up capital reached Birr 276.192 Million, and its shareholding base increased to 625, creating huge potential for growth and expansion. The company owns its headquarters building located at Haya Hulet (in front of Capital Hotel, next to Waryt Mulutlia) and renders general insurance services through its 44 branch offices (31 city branches and 13 outlying branches). It has also created job opportunities for more than 263 skilled and talented employees.
