Job Description
The Customer Service Officer I is responsible for providing front-office customer service support at the branch by handling account maintenance, processing cash and non-cash transactions, facilitating payments and collections, and responding to customer inquiries. The role ensures efficient service delivery while maintaining compliance with the bank's policies and procedures.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Insurance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant banking experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional front-office customer service at the branch.
- Handle account opening, account maintenance, and account update requests.
- Process cash and non-cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle customer payment and collection transactions.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve service-related issues promptly.
- Verify customer documents and ensure compliance with banking policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and customer information.
- Promote the bank's financial products and services to customers.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of customer information.
- Support branch operations and perform other duties assigned by the Branch Manager or Supervisor.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Good understanding of banking operations and financial products and services.
- Knowledge of banking accounting principles, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Ability to respond effectively to customer inquiries and resolve routine customer issues.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Good working knowledge of core banking systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
