Tsehay Bank S.C. is a private share company officially inaugurated on July 23, 2022, having secured its business license in accordance with Banking Business Proclamation No. 592/2008. The Bank was established following its Shareholders' General Assembly on February 18, 2021, with its commencement of operations marked in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Yinager Dessie, Former Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia.
The Bank was founded to fill financial service gaps and actively contribute to the development of the country. The term “Tsehay” is an Amharic word meaning “The Sun,” which directly reflects the Bank's objective of financial inclusion: to serve everyone equitably, just as the sun shines on all.
